Today I am pleased to be able to share with you the incredibly pretty spring wedding of Gemma and Adam. Gemma came to me last year to order her wedding invites and went on to order matching on-the-day stationery to dress the venue in their chosen hot pink and navy colour scheme! I think you will agree that the attention to detail throughout is really lovely. Enjoy!
We both always dreamed of a big fairy tale wedding from the moment we ever first mentioned marriage, we wanted a day that brought all of our friends and family together in one place and for the day to just be a day full of fun and laughter as we became husband and wife. We had both discussed a vintage theme but with our own little modern twist to it by using our colours of navy and hot pink and after looking at many beautiful venues we found Rowhill Grange in Wilmington and along with the stunning grounds where we prayed for sunshine to have an outdoor ceremony in the Gazebo it had the clockhouse suite, a gorgeous building with a thatched roof for the reception, we knew it would be perfect for the day we hoped to achieve. Growing up I would of always thought I would be turning up in a big princess dress but as I got older and after trying on every different style dress once we had set the date, I knew I was destined to be in a fishtail dress and my love for lace was always growing and secretly in my head I knew this would match the theme perfectly, half the reason I suggested it! Having tried on so many dresses I went back to one of the first dresses I tried on ‘the one’ I fell in love with and couldn’t get out of my head. It was head to toe in beautiful lace from Victoria Bridal Boutique Crofton, Orpington.
Being a busy working mum and dad of two children and booking the wedding with less than a year to go we wanted to keep the lead up to the big day as stress free as possible and with lots to organise we knew DIY stationery could be very time consuming on everyday life.
Having been maid of honour for my sister six months prior to our wedding I had been on hand helping her to organise their day and visa versa. She had opted for a love heart/sweet theme and while looking for stationery we came across heart invites online, the moment she saw her design it was meant to be. We also spotted some lovely vintage themes for my wedding and so I always had Heart Invites in the back of my head. The stationery for my sisters was absolutely perfect and Lauren was always on hand to help so when it came to our wedding it was a no brainer! She has the most beautiful designs and a number of designs to fit our theme one of which fitted our colour scheme almost perfectly. Again nothing was ever to much to ask and after speaking to Lauren about the possibility to change the colour slightly from pale pink to hot pink I had a proof of the colour change in my inbox before I knew, again it was a design meant to be! Once the design was chosen Lauren was on hand to help with every detail helping choose the style card they were printed on, it was so nice to have that help when I was clueless. The service Lauren provides is amazing and her commitment to providing such an excellent service is truly commendable just what you need when you are planning your big day! Thank you Lauren! The finished products were stunning, all our guests commented on how beautiful the stationery was and how perfect the design worked with our theme and colour scheme.
Aside from remembering what will be will be and if anything is not done as the day approaches then it didn’t need to be, I think the one piece of advice we could give is cherish every minute of your day as it goes so quickly! We woke up the next morning and just wished we could replay the day! Luckily from the beautiful photos and the amazing video/film we had done we get to relive our special day over and over again!
