Kat & Paddy’s Wedding

Bespoke Travel Theme Wedding Design

Early last year I was contacted by bride-to-be Kat who was looking to use my bespoke design service to create wedding stationery that reflected her and her partner Paddy’s personalities and passion for travel. The couple who live in Geneva are keen campers, with their own VW which has seen them travel around Europe together and visit many festivals. Despite this passion for travel they also admit to being a homely couple, enjoying their time at home with their beloved cat, Ben.

My starting point was to create an invite design that reflected the couple in an illustrated form in their VW Camper alongside Ben, ready to set off on their wedding adventure. The theme then developed as I started work on the on-the-day stationery early this year into ‘Natural Wonders of our World’, giving each table name it’s own ‘Natural Wonder’ and a bespoke illustration on each to depict these. The couple ordered matching place names, table numbers, an order of the day board and a Table Plan to keep the theme running throughout. The wedding which took place at Tre-ysgawen Hall in Wales had such beautiful attention to detail, which really allowed their personalities to shine with stunning floral arrangements with a home-made rustic touch and a bespoke wedding cake which reflected their love for adventure.

Their beautiful wedding photos were snapped by Dave Willis Photography

Kat has taken the time to answer a few short questions to share some hints and tips with you at the end of this post… Enjoy!

1. What was the overall look and feel you wanted to achieve for your wedding?

Bright, colourful, relaxed and fun.

2. Why did you opt for professional stationery over DIY?

We wanted a personal design.

3. What made you choose Heart Invites and were you pleased with the service and final products received?

We chose Lauren because we liked her design style; throughout the process we were really pleased with the service we received – Lauren understood our design concept and what we wanted, she was always very fast and organized, and we were always excited to see her final ideas. We love the final products because they are so personal and tell our unique story, and on the day the stationary helped tie everything together.

4. If you could give one piece of advise to any couples planning their wedding what would it be?

Don’t forget the sun cream! We were so worried about it raining that we forgot to also plan for sun.
