Today I get to share with you the beautiful wedding of Georgina and Sam. I am sure that you will agree that with their attention to detail throughout, DIY touches and extravagant floral displays, there is nothing they haven’t thought about. I absolutely love this blue hue wedding. Hydrangeas are one of my favourite flowers, particularly for a wedding as they really make a bold statement, and statement they do throughout this wedding, teamed with the beautiful purple tones, it really is a shabby chic floral paradise!
The beautiful photography is by Fay Andrea Wedding Photography who you can find here: http://www.fayandreaweddings.co.uk/. They have some stunning portfolios on their website so be sure to check them out if you are looking for a photographer!
Georgina has taken the time to give us a little insight into the ideas behind her big day at the end of the blog so read on to seek some advice for your own big day!
1. What was the overall look and feel you wanted to achieve for your wedding?
Our aim was to create a shabby chic floral garden wedding, inspired from our favourite place in Devon, and to incorporate it into our gorgeous family home in Surrey. We wanted everything from the colour scheme, decorative signs and features, and personal touches to represent us as a couple.
2. Why did you opt for professional stationery over DIY?
Our wedding had a huge DIY element to it – from a homemade Silver Birch archway, to all the shabby chic signs made out of old crates – so we were very, very busy. We chose professional stationery and altered it to the design that tied the shabby chic signs to the beautiful flowers perfectly. The stationery was spot on, smart, clean, pretty, and looked amazing. It was also one less thing for us to worry about!
3. What made you choose Heart Invites and were you pleased with the service and final products received?
I stumbled upon Heart Invites (thankfully) and immediately fell in love with Hydrangea Courtyard design. Following a quick discussion with Lauren the design was transformed into our wedding colours and theme – an all blue affair! Lauren was great, a pleasure to work with, and made the process so easy!
The print quality of all items were stunning. The invitations received so many positive comments from our guests, and the on the day stationery blended beautifully with the flowers on the tables and around the table plan.
4. If you could give one piece of advise to any couples planning their wedding what would it be?
The months of planning for one of the most important days of your life as a couple will be over before you know it! Take the time in the run up to enjoy every aspect with your husband-to-be and all the family that come with it! In our case our family were amazing and extremely supportive of even the smallest things. The advice we were endlessly given for our big day was to step back (as much as possible) and take it all in as the first day as Husband & Wife. Honestly this is the best advice ever, take it as these moment are ones that will stay with you forever! Enjoy!
