A massive happy new year to you all! I hope you have had a magical Christmas and are looking forward to what the new year will bring.
With every new year comes a beautiful new wedding stationery collection from Heart Invites and this year is no exception. I have designed a collection of 6 new designs which all reflect the most popular trends and colour schemes that couples are falling in love with in 2017.
2016 saw the rise of personalisation with bride and grooms opting less for the formal black tie wedding and instead opting to showcase their personalities and story through the theme of their wedding. The ongoing rustic and barn wedding craze continued to flourish as well as the more stripped back and intimate garden weddings. Whilst these trends won’t be disappearing just yet as we move into 2017 we are seeing a rise in the popularity of vibrancy and jewel tones for weddings with deep purples and Turquoise making bold statements. Industrial styling will continue to grow with large light installations and freestanding letters being a popular choice. Rustic Barn weddings will be making their way outside with a more whimsical, wild meadow feel, with a brighter use of colour but with rustic wood elements still being a very popular trend with bride and grooms for that home-made feel. As for the use of fonts, large script and handwritten styles will be most popular again giving the wedding stationery a more personal feel.
Although there are a few different stylistic trends happening in the wedding stationery world in 2017, the common theme is still personalisation. Couples are less worried about having a big affair and are more interested in having a magical and intimate wedding with their close friends and families that is unique and recognisable to their love story.
Secret Garden
Outdoors is the place to be for weddings in 2017, with the natural elements and floral landscape forming an integral part of the décor and design. The Secret Garden design with its bright refreshing pink, green and orange colour scheme brings a simplistic, homely feel to the invitation with the use of watercolour floral illustrations and a rustic edge with the use of cut wood logs and hessian to add some texture. The perfect wedding stationery for a Spring/Summer wedding.
Rustic Barn
Using wood in weddings has become fashionable whether you are using them for signs, place settings or centrepieces. If you plan on incorporating wood in your wedding to create a rustic feel then why not set the tone early with these Rustic Barn invites. This simple design features a neutral palate allowing you to dress up your wedding venue with as little or as much colour as you like with other accessories such as flowers and lace. The white laurel design has a whimsical, meadow feel to it with little birds and butterfly details.
Love Lights
As brides diverge from traditional venues and opt for more unconventional ones, outdoor lighting has become increasingly popular, which is becoming more and more evident in wedding stationery. String bulbs and industrial light up letters are some of the most admired options of this trend so I have created this ‘Love Lights’ design drawing upon this popular trend.
Ocean Ombre
From soft-washed cakes to dipped invitations, watercolour wedding ideas of all kinds have been popping up and grabbing our attention. Ombre in particular is becoming a popular trend with its unique effect where tones of colour fade into one another, graduating from light to dark. There are so many beautiful ways you can incorporate ombre colours throughout your wedding. Living by the sea myself I decided to use this ombre style as part of a beach/seaside theme but this can be adapted to suit your own needs.
Bohemian Dreams
This bohemian design with the use of florals, feathers, antlers and hand tied string offers a whimsical air – all seemingly effortless. Perfect for a more relaxed wedding with a festival, outdoors vibe. The soft grey and peach palate is bang on trend too!
Antique Aubergine
As previously mentioned, darker jewel tones are becoming increasingly popular in weddings with deep purples being a firm favourite. Antique Aubergine incorporates soft ivory flowers in contrast to the deep luxurious purple. The invite focus is largely on the Bride and Grooms names, taking centre stage in a lovely white script font, another trend for 2017.
I really hope you like the new designs and I hope to be working with you in 2017! To get in touch please email me at info@heartinvites.com
