Rustic themes are a growing trend and I just love them. If you’ve chosen a venue including a barn, tipi or country setting that lends itself to this beautiful theme then the designs below will be just the ticket to announce your wedding in the style it deserves.
Rustic Bloom
My best selling rustic wedding invite has to be ‘Rustic Bloom’ blending rustic hessian textures with a pop of colour with the painted flower illustrations. I just love the contrast between the two. The simple bunting and mason jar design gives the impression of a more laid back approach to the wedding day, and hints at the outdoors.
As with all of my stationery design this design can be amended to work in other colour schemes too, to tie in with your own chosen wedding theme and is available in a number of invite styles (single/double sided, regular fold or concertina fold) Matching on-the-day stationery is also available to continue your theme throughout. The full collection can be seen here.
Two Little Birds
My Two Little Birds design lends itself perfectly to a rustic, woodland wedding. With the cute little birds symbolising the bride and groom as ‘love birds’ this design would work beautifully at a wedding choosing to incorporate birdcages, wooden logs, lace and doilies or to be set in a rural and rustic location. This invite comes in a beautiful soft colour palate of mint/sage green and pink but can be adapted to suit your own chosen colour scheme.
Travel Themed
If you are theming your wedding with vintage travel theme then these designs are for you. With a soft take on rustic this ‘Parisian Pretty’ wedding collection will have you swooning (Pictured left). The ‘Love is in the Air’ design (Pictured right) is the perfect design choice for any wedding with a travel theme. So many couples like to share their travelling experiences through their wedding so why not try it yourself with one of these pretty designs!
Vintage Lace and Luggage Tag
Another incredibly popular rustic design from my range is the ‘Vintage Lace and Luggage Tag’ design. This design has the flexibility to be created in any colour choice by replacing the green polka dot background to a colour of your choice. Kraft paper and twine string create a perfect rustic touch to any wedding with a more relaxed and home-made feel to it.
Hydrangea Courtyard
My Hydrangea Courtyard design was added to my collections last year but is really coming into it’s own this year with it becoming a firm new favourite amongst my rustic wedding stationery. The soft blend of blue and pink tones, highlighted as the colours of the year by Pantone (serenity and rose quartz) are making it the perfect choice for 2016 brides. Hydrangeas have always been one of my favourite flowers, and they are such a bold statement flower at a wedding yet beautifully elegant and vintage in their style. Mixing the soft hues with the rustic kraft paper texture makes for a beautifully understated rustic design.
Botanical Garden
New for 2016 this botanical beauty is rustic wedding stationery at it’s simplistic best. I love the muted, soft grey shade with the imperfect finish to it and the ‘handwritten’ casual script used. The herbs bring a fresh pop of green, natural colour to the design keeping the palate simple and earthy. Succulents and aromatic herbs like rosemary and mint are playing a big part in this popular wedding trend.
Chalkboard
Taking a different approach to rustic wedding stationery the ‘Chalkboard’ collection is the perfect addition to a rustic wedding. The blackboard style has always been a firm favourite for wedding stationery with bride and grooms. It’s simplistic, delicate style and neutral colour scheme allow you to add as little or as much colour and detail to your wedding as you like with other decorations. The font has a lovely personal feel to it with the hand illustrated daisies. I have always pictured chalkboard stationery to be well suited to a rustic barn wedding with log cuts and wild flowers but really it can work well at any venue.
Enchanted Woods
Another new wedding stationery collection for 2016 is ‘Enchanted Woods’. A subtle touch of floral with wood and wildlife can be used to give a real whimsical and enchanted feel to your big day. This pretty colour combo is set to be very popular this year and the use of wood in weddings and invitation design is going to be a big trend.
Country Cottage
I love the soft girly blend of the pink Kath Kidston-esque floral wallpaper with the muted vintage paper texture and rustic hessian in this design. With the added lace it makes a very feminine and pretty wedding collection. Teamed with vintage pearls, vintage frames and trinkets this creates a truly beautiful take on a rustic wedding theme.
Christmas Wreath
Finally, if you are having a Christmas wedding, then it doesn’t come more rustic and festive than this ‘Christmas Wreath’ design. Think warm, rustic, and cosy. Rustic finishes in weddings have been big news for some time and they aren’t going anywhere in 2016. A christmas wedding is the perfect time to blend kraft paper textures and hessian fabrics mixed with winter foliage for a beautifully festive wedding stationery.
I hope you have found this post inspiring and helpful should you be planning a rustic wedding. This top trend is here to stay and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
